Graduates must prove to be able to make judgements by means of the following abilities:
- making healthcare decisions;
- deciding the priority on groups of patients;
- deciding the interventions to be given to the support staff;
- giving assistance basing one's choices on individual similarities and differences connected to values, ethnicity, and socio-cultural practices;
- deciding the proper healthcare interventions that take into account legal, political, geographical, ethical, and social influences;
- critically evaluating the results of the healthcare decisions on the basis of the patient's outcomes and the healthcare standards;
- taking on the responsibility of and answering for one's actions during the professional practice in compliance with the profile, the professional code of conduct, and the ethical and legal standards;
- making decisions by means of a scientific approach of problem solving;
- analysing the organisational problems and proposing solutions;
- making decisions when there are different positions (conflicts or dilemmas).

Educational methods and activities, didactic tools to achieve the expected outcomes:
- classes;
- guided reading and application exercises;
- videos and presentation of pictures, diagrams, materials, and graphs;
- case discussion in groups with presentations in plenary sessions;
- internship with experiences supervised by tutors in various contexts and with a progressive assumption of autonomy and responsibility;
- debriefing sessions to reflect on and re-elaborate experiences of professional practice.

Evaluation tools to verify the achievement of the expected outcomes:
- written and oral exams, tests of cases in stages;
- evaluation feedbacks during the internship (by means of a portfolio, structured assessment forms, and clinical reports on the professional practice);
- objective structured exam in stations.
