Course objectives

Know the fields of application of general psychology in the organizational-management field: personnel management, leadership, selection, evaluation, professional training, communication and relationships, group dynamics, work motivation, reward-punishment system, career development. Knowledge of the ethical and deontological aspects of the profession: professional secrecy, code of ethics, profession and professionalism, informed consent, organ transplantation, assisted reproduction, regenerative medicine. Knowledge of the fundamentals of the history of medicine. Epistemological status of medicine and evolution of the concept of disease: ontological, functional, normative and evolutionary concept of disease. Evolution of ideas of health and disease: the experimental and microbiological revolution, molecular and genomic medicine.

General and Occupational Psychology Program for TSRM 1. General Psychology: The Foundations for the Healthcare Profession Introduction to Psychology: Definition, historical overview, and main approaches. Cognitive Processes and Perception: Attention and Perception: Focus on aspects of visual perception in diagnostic images (visual search, pattern recognition, omission and commission errors). Memory and Learning: The role of experience and continuing education. Emotions and Motivation: Theories of Emotions: Recognizing and managing one's own emotions and those of others (patients and colleagues). Motivation at Work: Factors that influence commitment and job satisfaction. 2. Psychology of Communication and Helping Relationships Effective Communication in Healthcare: Elements of Communication: Verbal, nonverbal, and paraverbal. The importance of body language in patient-TSRM interaction. Active Listening and Empathy: Developing the ability to understand the patient's state of mind (anxiety, fear, pain). The Relationship with the Patient: Managing Anxiety and Fear: Techniques for reassuring the patient before and during the examination (e.g., claustrophobia in MRI, anxiety about diagnosis). Communicating Procedures and Risks: Clarity, reassurance, and informed consent in accessible language. Ethical and Deontological Aspects: Respect for patient privacy, autonomy, and dignity. 3. Work and Organizational Psychology in Healthcare Work-Related Stress (Burnout): Risk Factors and Symptoms: Recognizing the signs of stress and burnout in the healthcare context (high responsibility, contact with illness, shifts). Prevention and Coping Strategies: Stress management techniques and promotion of psychological well-being. Teamwork and Group Dynamics: The Healthcare Team: Roles, responsibilities, and interdependence between TSRMs, doctors, and nurses. Conflict and Negotiation: Constructive management of disagreements and improvement of interprofessional collaboration. Human Factors and Safety: Human Error: Classification of errors, factors that influence them, and safety culture. Cognitive Ergonomics: Human-technology interaction and optimization of the work environment to reduce fatigue and error.
