MUSEUM AND TERRITORY DIDACTICS I

Course objectives

The course intends to stimulate students' interest in the educational dimension of the museum as a conquest of modern democracies, highlighting its ethical value and strategic and cultural complexity. The proposed perspective is of a theoretical-reflective type: museum teaching is analyzed as part of a design system that joins conservation, communication, scientific and political-social issues. At the same time, concrete examples and experiences of excellence will be taken into consideration encouraging students' participation and ideas.

Attendance is expected in person. While not mandatory, attendance is strongly recommended, as the exam will also cover concepts, presentations, expositions, and references introduced in class but not included in the course's core reading list.
Exam mode
The evaluation of the results with respect to the expected CFUs is carried out with the same criteria as the ECTS of the Erasmus programmes and will be illustrated on the first day of the course. IMPORTANT: the workshop is an integral part of the course and is included in the final assessment. Therefore, anyone who fails to participate in the group work will be required to take the exam as a non-attending student. NOTICE: Non-attending students, in addition to the course bibliography, must agree on a thesis at least 30 days before the date they intend to take the exam.
Lesson mode
While not neglecting the theoretical aspects, in keeping with the stated educational objectives, the current professor intends to follow a MAIEUTIC METHOD with particular attention to the PRACTICAL and applicative aspects of the course topics. The course is structured through classroom meetings, a workshop, testimonials, and live online meetings with national and/or international speakers who will participate in the classroom.
