Course program
Since the period of the origins of Christianity, the various Christian movements have used oral and written forms to express their message and their cult, as well as to encourage the organization of the first communities. If the Aramaic phase of this process is now lost, we have instead considerable documentation relating to the Greek phase (for example the writings that entered the New Testament), as well as the diffusion in the Latin world and in Eastern cultures (Egypt, Asia). The course aims to provide students with a first introduction to the literatures that have expressed themselves in the literary languages of the Mediterranean world (Greek, Latin, Coptic, Syriac, Ethiopian, Armenian, Georgian).
