Course program
The module aims to provide knowledge of the main research methods in the history of the Italian language through an in-depth study of specific research topics. Upon completion of the course, students will demonstrate: a) that they have developed a basic ability for independent research in the historical-linguistic field; b) that they can use bibliography appropriately and critically; c) that they can adequately communicate the results of their research. In the 2025-26 academic year, the course will focus on the relationship between autographs and the history of the Italian language. In the first semester, Professor Iocca will address this topic in relation to the first centuries of Italian; in the second semester, Professor Motolese will explore this topic in relation to the Renaissance and the Modern era.

Bibliography for Attending Students: The reading list will be provided by the instructor in the handout at the beginning of the course.
