The aim of the course is to acquire:
Basic knowledge on behalf of the doctor practicing general medicine of the physical characteristics of the different methods in use of Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy, as well as the main technological characteristics of the apparatuses and their use in order to obtain useful information about the patient.

Knowledge about the principal indications of the investigation through Diagnostic Imaging and operational Radiology was well as the procedures of Oncological Radiotherapy.

Adequate knowledge of the physical principles of ionizing radiation and the clinical basis of diseases

Nuclear medicine diagnostic equipment (SPECT and PET)
Nuclear medicine imaging by applying gamma-ray emitters
Nuclear medicine imaging by applying positron emitters
Overview of therapeutic applications in nuclear medicine



Module: APPLIED MEDICAL TECHNICAL SCIENCES
Cardiovascular system: Radiological anatomy, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.
Transthoracic echocardiography, transesofageal echocardiography: general concepts and main findings in the acquired heart diseases.
Coronarography: techniques and imaging of the coronary tree.
