Educational objectives the Economics Institutions course is characterized by having a first "descriptive" approach; tends to underline the aspects concerning the institutions of the economic system, the dimensions of the economy and the main composition ratios between the economic dimensions; consequently, he is led to devote less attention to the analytical aspects of the theoretical construction. The concept of "history of economic thought" will be analyzed below; in this case the main objective is to give the student, who is tackling the problems of economics for the first time, an overview of the ideas developed by economists over the course of over two hundred years of theoretical elaboration and to provide a critical comparison of the various explanations of economic phenomena. Finally, the attention will be placed on the "analytical" aspects and it will be proposed to provide a method of reasoning; an essential moment of this approach is the systematic deduction from the basic hypotheses of the consequences that derive from it for the behavior of economic agents and the interrelationships between them on the markets.
