Course program
Hematopoiesis. Diagnostic tests in hematology: peripheral blood and bone marrow. Anemias: classification Platelet and coagulation disorders. Onco-hematology - Definition of neoplasia. General features of the neoplastic cell. - Integrated diagnostic pathway in onco-hematology:  Morphological examination  Flow cytometry  Cytogenetics and molecular genetics  Molecular investigations - Definition and classification:  Acute myeloid and lymphoid leukemia  Chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms  Chronic lymphatic leukemia  Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas,  Monoclonal Gammopathies and Multiple Myeloma Stem cell transplantation: autologous and allogeneic. The objective of the module is the classification of the main haematologic diseases. The course also aims to provide students with knowledge about the principles of treatment of the onco-haematological patients.
Prerequisites
To achieve a broader understanding of the course contents useful for the achievement of the learning objectives, it is essential that the student has acquired previous knowledge (basic notions) of cell biology and immunology.
