Course objectives
To acquire an appropriate method and culture for a theoretical-practical training based on scientific bases and on a human relationship. To know the main stages of the evolution of medical thought also from a multicultural perspective. To know the origin, evolution and current use of the main terms used in medicine and learn to explain the conceptual implications.

The module aims to:
- Situate medical content within a framework of complexity from a historical and
philosophical perspective.
- Approach medical knowledge through an epistemological lens.
- Understand the key elements of Foucault’s interpretation of the medical gaze and
the language of medicine.
- Identify the evolution of medical language in the description of nosological
frameworks.
- Conceptualize strictly medical data within a systemic vision.
- Contextualize medical experience within its broader cultural framework.
- Contemporary trends in medical pedagogy.
- Laboratory activities on medical texts and on the relationship between medicine
and philosophy.
