Curriculum
Filomena Diodato è professoressa associata di Semantica e Semantica Cognitiva (PHIL-04/B) presso il Dipartimento di Filosofia della Sapienza, Università di Roma. La sua ricerca spazia tra semiotica e semantica, con un focus particolare sulla semantica linguistica e lessicale e sulle teorie della categorizzazione, approfondite in due volumi: Teorie semantiche (Liguori, 2013) e Teorie della categorizzazione (Liguori, 2015). Le sue pubblicazioni più recenti si concentrano su autori strutturalisti classici, come “The Botanist and the Gardner. Norm and Meaning in Coseriu’s Semantics” (With Saussure, beyond Saussure, Nodus, 2022), e sulla storia delle idee linguistiche, condotta attraverso il Labsil (Laboratorio di Storia delle Idee Linguistiche, Sapienza), di cui è membro fondatore. Diodato è attiva in diverse organizzazioni scientifiche internazionali, tra cui l’International Association for Cognitive Semiotics. Ha inoltre diretto ricerche, partecipato a conferenze e tenuto seminari internazionali sulla comunicazione politica e sulle sue intersezioni con le scienze cognitive e la filosofia del linguaggio, culminate nel suo prossimo libro, Dal senso al consenso (Carocci, Roma). E' promotrice, assieme al prof. Franco Cutugno (Università di Napoli, Federico II) del Phil_AI Lab, che indaga le relazioni tra semiotica, linguistica, filosofia del linguaggio e le nuove frontiere dell'Intelligenza Artificiale.
Filomena Diodato is an associate professor of Semantics and Cognitive Semantics (PHIL-04/B) at the Department of Philosophy, Sapienza University of Rome. Her research spans semiotics and semantics, with a focus on linguistic and lexical semantics and theories of categorization, explored in two volumes: Teorie semantiche (Liguori, 2013) and Teorie della categorizzazione (Liguori, 2015). Recent publications address classical Structuralist thinkers, such as “The Botanist and the Gardner. Norm and Meaning in Coseriu’s Semantics” (With Saussure, beyond Saussure, Nodus, 2022), and the history of linguistic ideas, conducted through Labsil (Laboratory of History of Linguistic Ideas, Sapienza), of which she is a founding member. She is active in several international scientific organizations, including the International Association for Cognitive Semiotics. She has also led research, presented at conferences, and conducted international seminars on political communication and its intersections with cognitive science and philosophy of language, culminating in her forthcoming book, Dal senso al consenso (Carocci, Roma). She is the co-founder, alongside Prof. Franco Cutugno (University of Naples, Federico II), of the Phil_AI Lab, which explores the relationships between semiotics, linguistics, philosophy of language, and the new frontiers of Artificial Intelligence.
