Alessandra De Cesaris,
Ph.D in Architectural Design and Theory, since 1999 teaches Architectural Design at the Faculty of Architecture, ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome. She is member of PDTA, Department of Planning, Design, and Technology of Architecture and she is in the Committee of the PhD Programme in Architecture Design and Theory of Architecture. In the years 2008-11 she has been the scientific coordinator of the Lifelong Learning/Erasmus Programme and member of the Erasmus Committee and International Relations of the Faculty of Architecture. Actually she is RAM, Responsible for Academic Mobility both for PHD Programme and 5 Years Master Degree Architectural Course (Corso di Laurea Magistrale 5 UE).
From 2012 to 2019 she has been the director and the head of research of HousingLab, a research Laboratory founded in 2005 within the Department of Architecture. The Laboratory provides services for public institutions, business people, designers, academic and students. Its main fields of interest are urban renewal, typology innovation and environmental sustainability within the city, particularly in Rome.

• Alessandra De Cesaris, researcher, Ph.D in Architecture Theory and Design, since 1999 teaches Architectural Design at the Faculty of Architecture, ‘Sapienza’ University of Rome, and she is member of Department of Planning, Design, and Technology of Architecture
• She is in the Committee of the PhD Programme in Architecture Theory and Design, DiAP.

• Since 2015 she is responsible of the Executive Protocol of the General Agreement for Cooperation between Sapienza University of Rome and Allaodoleh Semnani of Garmsar,

• Since 2017 she is responsible of the Executive Protocol of the General Agreement for Cooperation between Sapienza University of Rome and Soore University, Tehran

3 Project of ground and underground as a sustainable element for the regeneration of the peripheral urban areas.
In the regeneration of the urban outskirts it’s necessary to operate with a series of interventions for a rather different and innovative variety of infrastructure for the ground and the underground. This mean adjusting the systems of transport, parking, traffic, goods distribution, and network infrastructure to be able to provide services and encourage new energy sources.

Architectural Design Studio 3 (12 cfu).
In the studio the student will establish the draft of a residential complex of medium-sized integrated to the open space and the environment, with individual activities and seminars, through lectures and exercises. The studio integrates the elements of architectural and urban design with those more specific to the design and analysis of the green areas of the city and the territory. It is asked to the student to develop a project as a synthesis of morphological, distributional, technological and architectural solutions in construction including a degree of experimentation.

• Faculty of Architecture, Sapienza, 5 years degree, Class LM-4 c.u. Architectural Design Studio 1 (12 cfu).
The Architectural Design Studio 1 focuses the design of a small building mainly for residential use, with individual activities and seminars, through lectures and exercises. Typological issues and spatial language are investigated, inherent to the subject of the exercise, in order to provide the student with the basic tools of architectural design.

Theme: a small group of patio houses in an area left empty at the Olympic Village, Rome

Theme: the reinterpretation of the horizontal unit designed by Adalberto Libera at the Tuscolano district, Rome. The student will have to elaborate a project that resumes dimensions and type of the patio type introducing the changes suggested by the reading of the place and by the changed conditions of living today.

Theme: the reinvention of the type d - the so-called cross - designed by arch. Adalberto Libera at the Olympic Village in an empty area in front of the Auditorium, not completed according to the design of the plan.
This reinvention has led to a series of changes suggested by the relations with the pre-existing and changed conditions of living today.
