Curriculum
Gaia Maselli holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Pisa, Italy. She was Postdoc researcher at Sapienza University of Rome. Prior to Rome University, she was junior researcher at Italian National Research Council (CNR) in Pisa.
Current research interests concern design and implementation aspects of mobile networks and wireless communications systems, with particular focus on backscattering networks for the Internet of Things. Other interests include design and performance evaluation of networking protocols for RFID systems, sensor ad hoc networks, and cognitive radio networks. In the past, Dr. Maselli has contributed to research on cross-layer design for ad hoc networks.
According to Google Scholar, her peer-reviewed contributions that have already appeared in journals, conference proceedings, book chapters and on digital libraries have been cited more than 1280 times. Her h-index is 13 (updated November 2018).
Dr. Maselli is Area Editor of the Computer Communications Journal, edited by Elsevier. She served as member of the Organizing Committee of ACM SenSys 2013, IEEE SECON 2009, WONS 2009, ACM/SIGMOBILE HealthNet 2008, ACM/SIGMOBILE HealthNet 2007. She also served as member of the TPC of INFOCOM 2019, INFOCOM 2018, IEEE CCNC2018, Med-Hoc-Net 2018, IEEE CCNC 2017, IEEE INFOCOM 2016, IEEE CCNC 2016, IEEE IoTech 2012, IEEE IoTech 2011, Networking 2010.
Dr. Maselli serves as reviewer for several journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Communication Letters, IEEE Communication Magazine, Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks, Elsevier Computer Communications, Elsevier Pervasive and Mobile Computing, Springer Wireless Networks.
Gaia Maselli participated to many European Community research projects such as: CHIRON ARTEMIS Joint Undertaking (Cyclic and person-centric Health management: Integrated appRoach for hOme, mobile and clinical eNvironments); eDIANA ARTEMIS 2008-1 (Embedded Systems for Energy Efficient Buildings.
