Degree Programme

The Degree Programme in Nursing is part of the Degree Programmes in the Health Professions and aims to train professionals who perform activities with professional autonomy which are directed at the prevention, care, and protection of individual and collective health. Graduates of the Degree Programme perform the functions identified by their specific professional profile and ethical code.

The Degree Programme in Nursing is a 3-year academic programme and attendance is obligatory. The study plan includes lectures, electives, professional training activities (the internship), individual study, and other individual training activities. The acquisition of skills by students is calculated in credits, of which there are 60 each year for a total of 180. The study plan consists of courses organised in integrated modules and internships in settings where nurses currently practice. These educational activities aim to achieve the specific objectives of the Degree Programme, due in large part to the collaboration between clinical tutors, professional teaching tutors, and course coordination. In addition to integrated courses, individual studies and clinical research work are carried out in order to unite theoretical knowledge and practical skills, develop professional, interpersonal, and educational competencies, and introduce future nurses to their profession.
