0) Safety issues in the classroom and in the laboratory
1) Fundamental physical concepts: mass, force, energy. Mechanics: kinematics, statics, dynamics; its application to the human body.
2) Fluidodynamics with special reference to the circulation of blood.
3) Electromagnetism.
4) The atom: nucleus, electrons, orbitals, hybridization. The chemical bond. The molecules. Energy in chemistry: bond energy, heat, temperature.
5) The physical states of matter: gases, liquids, solids. Weak interactions. The concept of the mole; Avogadro's number. Gaseous mixtures. Solutions; their concentration; osmotic pressure.
6) Chemical reactions: equilibrium and kinetics; catalysis. Redox reactions.
7) Chemical equilibrium in solution: electrolytes; autoprotolysis of water. pH: acids and bases (weak and strong); buffers; hydrolysis; titrations.
8) Organic chemistry: the structure of carbon; hydrocarbons; functional groups; isomerism;
9) Introduction to the Biochemistry: glucides; lipids, aminoacids; proteins, enzymes and biological catalysis; nucleotides and nucleic acids. Blood proteins; coagulation, antibodies.
