Epidemiological Studies
- Cross-sectional studies.
- Case-control studies.
- Cohort studies.
- Ecological studies.
- Experimental studies.
- Case series.
Data Collection
- Use of existing data. Questionnaires. Diaries. Physical-clinical examinations.
Epidemiology in Disease Control
- Primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention. The role of epidemiology.
- Diagnosis and measurement errors. Validity. Specificity and sensitivity. Negative and positive predictive value. Reproducibility.
- Screening programs.
Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases
- General principles. Temporal course of infection and disease. Secondary attack rate. Reproductive number. Net reproductive rate. Herd immunity.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic health statistics and the main models of disease and health.

Exam mode
The evaluation test, graded on a scale of thirty, is written and includes both open-ended and multiple-choice questions. The questions will assess the level of general understanding, the acquisition of scientific terminology, and the ability to summarize and connect the acquired knowledge.
