Course objectives

The course aims to provide students with information on the principles of anesthesiology related to interventional radiology. Particular emphasis will be given to the organization of the emergency cart.

Definition of anesthesia: general, regional, sedation Role and responsibilities of the anesthesiologist ASA classification of anesthetic risk General anesthesia: indications and main drugs Sedation: levels (minimal, moderate, deep) Regional anesthesia: general concepts Commonly used techniques and drugs Standard intraoperative monitoring Vital signs: ECG, SpO₂, blood pressure Common devices and interfaces Airways: functional anatomy Airway management devices: face mask, SGA, endotracheal tube Role of the TSRM professional in the case of an intubated patient Transfer and management of the critically ill patient Anesthesiological considerations in CT, MRI, angiography, interventional radiology Precautions in the presence of medical devices (pacemakers, pumps, ventilators) Shock, cardiac arrest, anaphylactic reactions
