Course objectives
Occupational Medicine Course The course aims to provide guidance on the legislative principles, and methods of application of existing rules on "health and safety at the workplace", referring in particular to the prevention and the protection of the residual risks for the figure of the T.R.M.I.R. History, definition and application areas of Occupational Medicine National legislation on safety and health at the workplace Accident at work and occupational diseases definitions Basic concepts of hazard, risk, prevention, and protection at work Classification of the occupational main risk factors for health and safety Key aspects of the Legislative Decree no. 81/2008: general protection measures, prevention figures, their duties and responsibilities "Risk Assessment" and “Risk management” Information, education and training, safety signs and procedures Personal protective equipment (PPE) Definitions, pathophysiology and prevention elements: • Exposure to ionizing and non ionizing radiations • Exposures to carcinogens and mutagens • Exposure to chemicals • Exposures to biological agents: standard precautions and vaccinations • Manual handling and patients handling • Night shift work • Work on other risk factors for health (VDT, work-related stress, etc.) Workplace aggressions, prevention and management Health surveillance and medical surveillance of radiation protection activities
