DENTAL HYGIENE TRAINING III
Course objectives
In addition to the implementation of the knowledge and skills acquired in the second year upon completion of the course the student must know the protocols of professional and home oral hygiene for patients before, during and after odontostomatological surgery and those related to the maintenance of periodontal health in patients with prosthetic and implant products. Upon completion of the course the student must know how to do (under the tutor's guidance) removal of hard and soft deposits, over and under-gingival, with manual and mechanical tools; - topical application of sealants, varnishes, foams and desensitizers; - disclosure of fluoroprophylaxis methods; - bleaching of vital teeth.

Prerequisites
The Internship III exam can be supported by the student only upon completion of the number of hours foreseen for second and third year by the didactic organization and after having reached the planned training objectives that will be verified through evaluations obtained in the various training courses.

Teaching mode
Responsible for planning and organizing the training activity is the Didactic Director in collaboration with the professional tutors of the CdS. These elaborate the annual training project and propose it to the approval of the Course Council. Traineeship supervision is guaranteed by a tutoring system. During the Internship the tutor exercises a constant evaluation of the student's learning in order to achieve the maximum effectiveness of the training process.
Frequency
Pursuant to Article 6 of the Teaching Regulations of the Dental Hygiene Course, Professional Training is the fundamental training activity for the development of professional, relational and behavioral skills of diagnostic reasoning and critical thinking. The attendance of the student to the internship activities is 100% obligatory for all 60 credits provided by the educational system in accordance with European legislation and must be certified and evaluated. The practical training activity is usually organized in relation to the academic calendar; the related implementation provisions are the responsibility of the Educational Director.
Exam mode
To pass the exam you must obtain a grade of not less than 18/30 in each module. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired a sufficient knowledge of the operational protocols of primary secondary and tertiary prevention, and must know the techniques of ballistic support, of oral hygiene at home and advanced professional and tailor-made operational protocols for patients in tertiary prevention. To achieve a score of 30/30 cum laude, the student must demonstrate that he has acquired excellent knowledge of all the topics covered during the course, being able to link them in a logical and consistent way. The exam includes an oral and practical test on synthetic models. The final judgment is also based on the assessments expressed by the clinical tutors at the end of the individual training activities as well as the mastery of the topics and the ability to exhibit
