PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS
Course objectives
Knowledge of the functioning and principles of operation and use of laboratory equipment. Learning about the behaviors to adopt in managing the risk associated with pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical errors in order to be able to identify critical areas and intervene to reduce the number of errors to guarantee more secure data.

Course program
In the three years provided for by the educational system, Professional Laboratories are organized equally distributed one per year, for a total value of 3 ECTS.
For the 2022-2023 academic year, the following Professional Laboratories are established:
I YEAR I SEMESTER - Approach to basic instrumentation (Dr. Maria Antonietta Lozzi)
II YEAR I SEMESTER - Pre-analytical and Analytical in the laboratory (Dr. Maria Antonietta Lozzi)
III YEAR I SEMESTER - Flow cytometry: theoretical and practical applications (Dr. Roberta Colletti)
Prerequisites
In order to be able to attend the specific lessons referable to the Professional Laboratories, students must comply with the prerequisites required for the year of the course.
Books
During the specific professional workshop, students are provided with constantly updated teaching material, both in paper and computer format.
Teaching mode
The activity consists of a theoretical part with lectures followed by a practical part in the specialist laboratory.
Exam mode
During the course of the Professional Laboratory, the student will be subjected to tests aimed at assessing the correct understanding of the topics covered from time to time.
