Course program
Laboratory activities require the acquisition of 3 credits over the three years of the program, for a total of 36 hours. The 12 hours required for each year of the program are divided into the first and second semesters of each academic year. First year: total and partial hygiene care for dependent individuals and patient handling techniques, both manual and with assistive devices; placement of bladder catheters; venipuncture; donning and doffing of PPE. Second year: correct ECG execution; management of dialysis vascular access; management of urinary and intestinal stomas. Year III: BLSD and airway clearance maneuvers for newborns, children, and adults. Assisted ventilation techniques.
Prerequisites
The student must possess basic knowledge of nursing care, the code of ethics and the professional profile of the nurse, notions relating to the helping and adaptation relationship related to the promotion of health and safety. The student must know the theoretical aspects of the nursing procedures covered in the laboratory

Frequency
Attendance at the workshops is mandatory for the entire scheduled number of hours; attendance is verified by signing the register provided in the classroom.
Exam mode
The laboratories in the Nursing degree program are mandatory, practical environments that simulate real-life healthcare procedures, using materials and devices available during practical training. They are used to develop manual skills, practice techniques safely before working with patients, and prepare students for mandatory internships and professional practice. Attendance at the laboratories is 100% mandatory. The assessment includes practical work, including preparation of the environment, the patient, the necessary materials, and execution of the technique. Students must apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired and demonstrate critical thinking skills in selecting the medical devices to use, considering the various issues that may arise.
Lesson mode
Laboratory activities are carried out in classrooms with the use of medical devices or in hospital environments with the collaboration of adequately trained personnel.
