Composition, properties, and states of matter (Structure of the atom and nature of chemical bond)
Solutions.
Electrolytes and Oxidation-Reduction Reactions.
Acids and bases, pH, mention of Biological buffer systems.
Structure and function of biological molecules: carbohydrates, lipids and aminoacids and proteins.
biological reactions and enzymes.
Metabolism: General principles. Mention of energetic metabolism and ATP role.
Mention of main metabolic pathways: glycolysis, Krebs cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, lactic acid fermentation, alcoholic fermentation.
Prerequisites
In order to understand the content of the course and achieve the learning objectives, at the beginning of the teaching activities, students must have basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, and biology, developed during secondary school courses.
