EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
To acquire (1) methods for the management of communication strategies in medical oncology and (2) tools for critical assessment of scientific information on diagnostic and clinical oncology.
CONTENTS:
Natural history of cancer, initiation, promotion and progression. Carcinogenesis. Tumors and microenvironment. Invasion and metastasis.
Molecular basis of cancer; hallmarks of cancer cells.
Diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic implications of molecular oncology.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge on etiopathogenesis of cancer.
