Understand the historical roots and ethical principles of clinical research (from the Nuremberg Code to the Declaration of Helsinki). Introduce the concept of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) as an international standard for quality and participant protection. Know the role and functions of the Ethics Committee, and the responsibilities of the investigator and sponsor. The birth of the modern clinical trial. Fundamental principles of GCP (transparency, informed consent, data security, monitoring). The study approval process: ethics committees and European regulations. Know the essential elements of a study protocol and sample planning. Introduce the technologies and parameters of interest in neurophysiological research. From case reports to scientific hypotheses. Structure and phases of a clinical research protocol. Choice of variables and measurement methods. Introduction to neurophysiological techniques in research: EEG, EMG, evoked potentials. Practical examples of neurological studies and case discussions. Understand the IMRaD (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion) structure. Understand how to write a case report or original article. Know how to critically discuss results and adhere to the ethical principles of scientific publication. How to present research results in the form of an abstract, poster, or article. Peer review and scientific integrity. Examples of articles in the neurological field: how to read and evaluate the quality of a publication.
