Course program
The course focuses on ethical issues related to food, with particular attention to its environmental impact. The following topics are explored in depth: • Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) • Cultivated Meat • • Intensive Farming • • Environmental Impact of Intensive Farming • • Edible Insects • • Speciesism Other topics are also broadly examined and discussed, including: assisted suicide, euthanasia, • assisted reproduction, surrogacy, voluntary termination of pregnancy
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the main biological and biochemical mechanisms of human nutrition.
Books
Course materials include PDFs of lecture slides, selected videos and multimedia resources, as well as scientific articles.

Exam mode
The exam consists of a presentation of a scientific article that concerns the topics covered in class. Scores can range from 18 to 30.
Lesson mode
The professor provides face-to-face lessons in the classroom; if there are no classrooms available, lessons can be scheduled remotely.
