Course program
The course explores, starting from case studies applied to the building heritage, the themes of the different phases of project management and construction. Through the practical laboratory activity, aspects of the design process are dealt with, through the use of tools to control the activities of knowledge of the building consistency and definition of design choices; this in an interpretation consistent with the principles of economic, social and environmental sustainability of the interventions.
Particular attention will be paid to the criteria, methods and tools aimed at the integrated conception of design solutions aimed at improving the functionality / usability, safety, comfort, flexibility, environmental sustainability of the intervention.
The elaboration of the practical design studio is the center of the training activity of the laboratory and is organized by levels of definition progressively aimed at deepening the definitive-executive level of the technological solutions adopted. Theoretical and applicative activities are conceived as integrated and synchronic over the semester.
Prerequisites
No prerequisites or pre- requirements are necessary for the enrolment. It is reccomended to have attended and passed classes of fIrst year.

Frequency
Although attendance is not mandatory, it is advisable to follow the timing of the exercises, which will constitute exemption tests. Furthermore, since the teaching is integrated with the structures module, in order to pass the exams, students must previously have passed the structures module.
Exam mode
The ccess to the exam is subject to:
- at the level of the work done in the exercises;
- knowledge of the issues developed, which can be evaluated by the 3 intermediate deliveries scheduled according to the calendar of activities.
Lesson mode
The Studio is divided into some frontal communications, exercises and laboratory, with intermediate checks and criticisms, interviews and final examination.
The teacher will provide the teaching material for the preparation of the exam papers in digital format.
During the semester, three intermediate deliveries and classroom exercises will be carried out, to be carried out in groups, in line with the groups already formed within the Structures Module.
