Course program
Contents: Practical exercises to learn how to perform abdomen examination in patients. Exercises with patients in the classification and interpretation of simple clinical findings. These practical activities are always accompanied by the collection of the medical hystory.
Prerequisites
Requirements: The topics covered in the teaching activities require basic knowledge of human anatomy, histology and pathophysiology. The passing of the final examination is linked to the demonstration by the student to possess the ability to interrogate the patient obtaining consistent and organized information (anamnesis), to perform the basics of physical examination, to collect and interpret the main vital parameters, to evaluate the basic elements of ECG and to perform simple processes of interpretation of clinical data and physical signs (elements of clinical reasoning). The student is also provided a training (with relative certification) in the main resuscitation maneuvers (BLS).

Exam mode
Evaluation methods: The final exam is based on: 1) the completion of a multiple choice questionnaire (for passing the exam, at least 20 exact answers over 30 questions are required), 2) a practical test based on the clinical examination of a patient (brief collection of the medical history and execution of the physical examination of an organ or apparatus) and on the recognition of the essential elements of the ECG. Furthermore, the student must have obtained the BLS certification.
