THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELING
Course objectives
The knowledge acquired in the course covers the basic elements of probability theory and some probabilistic methods required for the management of uncertainty in risk assessment for safety purposes. Skills acquired during the course - Construction of statistical models for estimation of probability of occurrence of unpredictable events that may cause damage to people and property, in coincidence with particular situations (risk factors) that influence probability of occurrence of such events. - Randomisation of the forecasting models of the aforementioned events through multivariable simulation of the uncertain parameters that influence their probability of occurrence. - In both cases: quantification, in terms of probability of occurrence, of the impact of specific prevention measures.
