ANTHROPOLOGY AND NATURAL HISTORY

Course objectives

With reference to the human species and its natural history, i.e. in a framework of "physical anthropology", the training proposal of the course is oriented towards providing the bio-naturalistic bases indispensable for the study of human evolution and biodiversity, not lacking hints to the bioarchaeology of human remains.

Manzi G. - Il grande racconto dell'evoluzione umana (Il Mulino, Bologna 2018). This reference text is complemented by other handbooks and supplementary readings that will be provided in class and via "classroom".
Frequency
Attendance at classes is recommended.
Exam mode
At the end of the course, students will have to pass a written test, based on an "open-ended" question (within the indicated text limits) and two additional "closed-ended" questions (with pre-established alternatives).
Lesson mode
Traditional lessons, accompanied by the presentation of slides that will be regularly provided via "classroom" and by the laboratory examination of models (in cast) shown in the classroom and discussed by the teacher.
