The CdS promotes and disseminates on its website news and notices on initiatives of any kind, organised within the CdS itself or as part of activities promoted by other structures of Sapienza or outside it. A table with all the activities that can be carried out in order to obtain the cfu related to the Apprenticeship is published on the course portal and in the Teaching Regulations.

Graduate

La prova finale consiste nella redazione di un elaborato attinente a una o a più discipline studiate nel percorso formativo, siano esse di base, caratterizzanti o affini e integrative.
In sede di discussione, i laureati e le laureate esporranno parzialmente gli esiti del loro elaborato in una delle due lingue straniere studiate.

The degree committees, on the recommendation of the supervisor, will award up to 5 points for the final examination, taking into account the following parameters: 1) individual contribution and originality of the final paper; 2) quality of the linguistic construction of the paper; 3) conduct of the discussion during the degree examination. The score obtained shall be added to the one obtained from the weighted average of the curriculum; 1 point shall be added if the student is in progress on the date of the graduation examination or if the undergraduate's curriculum presents at least 3 honours.
PROCLAMATION. The proclamation of the graduates may take place either concurrently, at the end of each graduation session, or in deferred form, on a date set by the President of the CoS. In either case, all necessary information and instructions will be provided to graduating students through official Department and Course of Study channels.DEFINITION AND DESCRIPTION. The degree examination consists of the public discussion of a written paper written in Italian under the guidance of a lecturer/speaker. In special cases and at the request of the lecturer, the paper may be written in a foreign language. The paper will include a part to be written in one of the two languages of study. The commitment required of the student to pass the final examination is commensurate with 6 cfu.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE WRITTEN WORK The written work must be the result of the student's personal work, attesting to the skills acquired during the three-year course, autonomy in study and in the application of the methodologies chosen for the work. The dissertation may relate to any subject area covered by the degree course, provided that the chosen subject is included in the student's training programme, and must be at least 25,000 characters long (excluding the bibliography) or the equivalent in the case of work that is partly or fully based on other material (audiovisual texts, hypertexts, etc.). The paper must also accurately and correctly state any textual quotations taken from other studies. Proven plagiarism of the work of others or of material taken from the web will result in the annulment of the written paper and the postponement of the final examination.
ROLE OF THE LECTURER. Each student must be guided by a lecturer in the preparation of the paper. The supervising lecturer performs the following functions: (a) he/she assigns the topic and the type of work, taking into account the abilities and training of the student; (b) he/she helps the undergraduate student set out the work by providing methodological guidance; (c) he/she follows the undergraduate student in the drafting of the paper by suggesting corrections and additions to be made.
The supervisor guarantees the student a minimum of four meetings during the writing of the paper. At the end of the work, the lecturer will communicate his or her assessment of the written work, using the following grades: insufficient, sufficient, good, excellent. If the work is judged insufficient, the discussion of the paper will be postponed to the next session.
METHOD OF ASSIGNING THE WRITTEN WORK. The written work does not necessarily have to coincide with the final stage of the course of study. The student may request the assignment as from the second year of the course -and in any case at least six months before the session in which he/she intends to graduate- on the basis of any disciplinary or thematic preferences, etc. Guidelines for writing the degree dissertation are published on the Department's website and on the CoS website. Please refer to them for anything not indicated in these regulations.
SUBMISSION OF THE DEGREE APPLICATION. All information relating to administrative procedures, the calendar of sessions, deadlines and how to submit the degree application can be found on the Faculty of Humanities website. As soon as the student has acquired 174 CFU of his/her coursework, he/she will be able to access the final examination to discuss the paper.
COMMISSION. The Final Examination Commission consists of at least seven members and may be divided into sub-commissions of at least three members.
ASSESSMENT. The Commission members collectively assess the oral test, taking into account the candidate's mastery of the topics covered, confidence in exposition and linguistic competence in the foreign language.

Tutoring

The course of study employs tutors who support students in the transition from one year to the next, both with regard to organisational aspects as well as course selection and orientation for the preparation of the thesis.

La Biblioteca di Lingue e letterature straniere moderne, sita nell'edificio Marco Polo sede del CdS, ospita una collezione di circa 200.000 volumi. Documenta ampiamente e fornisce contenuti specializzati di alto livello nei campi della lingua e letteratura inglese, tedesca, francese, slava, ungherese e, in misura minore, fiamminga e nordica. Nel corso degli anni ha acquisito preziose collezioni bibliotecarie (Malvezzi, Paul Valery, Mac Pherson, Bertea e altre) e ospita circa un centinaio di libri rari, tra cui alcuni volumi del XVII secolo.
Uno dei suoi punti di forza è la sezione di slavistica, con circa 80.000 volumi di lingua e letteratura russa, polacca, ceca, slovacca, serba, croata, slovena, ucraina, macedone e bielorussa. Grazie all'acquisizione di diverse collezioni nel corso degli anni (le biblioteche private di Ripellino, Nicolai, Martini, Lo Gatto, Costantini, Zahorski), è considerata la più ricca e preziosa collezione slava dell'Europa occidentale.
La biblioteca offre ampi spazi per lo studio, con orari comodi e accesso al prestito e alla consultazione in loco di rapida ed efficace comprensione; mentre l'edificio Marco Polo offre, grazie ai suoi ampi spazi e alla presenza di sedie e tavoli praticamente ad ogni piano, la possibilità di studio con materiali propri.

Il Career Service di Sapienza supporta le studentesse, gli studenti, le laureate e i laureati nella delicata fase di transizione dal percorso universitario al mondo del lavoro, fornendo diversi servizi tra i quali:

L'accompagnamento al lavoro si concretizza con specifiche attività organizzate dal Career Service e/o da Facoltà e altre strutture di Ateneo o in collaborazione con aziende, enti esterni pubblici o privati ed associazioni di categoria.
Le attività di orientamento al lavoro possono consistere in seminari, workshop ed eventi tematici sull'orientamento al lavoro, sulle competenze trasversali e su career management skills (ad es. soft skills, redazione del cv, strategie per la ricerca attiva di lavoro, video curriculum, social network, Employability Lab ecc.)
Per favorire l'incontro con le aziende e gli enti, vengono organizzati Recruiting day, Career Day, Testimonial day, Presentazioni aziendali, visite aziendali, Assessment, Business Game, programmi di mentoring o altre iniziative inerenti al placement, comprensive di quelle con gli Alumni e le mentorship aziendali. Tali eventi possono essere realizzati sia online che in presenza e sono finalizzati alla ricerca dei profili più idonei per le opportunità professionali offerte dalle imprese.
Sono a disposizione di studentesse e studenti, laureate e laureati anche seminari, workshop ed eventi tematici dedicati al placement (ad es. innovazione, start-up, incubazione di impresa, focus sulle professioni, Innovation Camp, ecc.).
