Archaeology

The student will be involved in a wide selection of field and lab activities. Excavation, Rome. Northern and southern slopes of the Palatine and / or Laboratory of analysis and elaboration of the excavation documentation and / or Laboratory of cataloging and study of ceramic finds and / or Laboratory: architectural analysis and cartography preliminary to the stratigraphic investigation or recording of activities carried out in collaboration with external offices.

No previous experience/classes needed.

Frontal lessons

Students evaluation will be based on the following parameters: knowledge, active involvement in classes, reasoning, learning.

Cleaning and conservation of faunal remains from archaeological contexts Species identification Identification of anatomical elements Indetification of sex and age at death Recording of osteometric data Recognition of taphonomic marks

It is recommended to have attended one of the following courses: Methodology of Archaeozoological Research Archaeozoology Archaeozoology and Paleobotany and Environmental Archaeology Zooarchaeology

Attendance of lab activities is mandatory

Attendance is mandatory for obtaining the CFU credits.
