Course objectives

Three objectives are pursued: a) to acquire tools essential for the interpretation of media images, their history, and their reception; b) to develop the ability to reconstruct the reciprocal relationships between media representations and social environments; c) to conceive and compose a critical essay on specific topics addressed during the course.

Course program
Combining two complementary perspectives - formal analysis and sociological studies of communication - the course will focus on the links between media, narrative and identity. It will construct a history of representations and representations of the self, from advertising to digital platforms, highlighting the modes and forms of creativity.
