Course objectives

Aims The general objective of the course is to provide an in-depth understanding of the theoretical foundations and of the main disciplinary areas of occupational psychology. In detail, students will acquire the ability to understand the specificity of the latest theories and of how psychological knowledge can be applied to understand psychology of work (LD1). They will also be able to use the knowledge acquired to initiate organizational processes (eg selection of personnel), design interventions (eg monitoring plans and reduction of work related stress) (LD2) or reflect on current dynamics (eg conflicts, role problems) (LD3). They will also be able to gather data useful for the understanding and evaluation of roles (e.g., job analysis) and organizational profiles (e.g., analysis of personality profiles) (LD3). Finally, they will be equipped with the necessary skills to deepen their knowledge of the discipline (LD4), and to interact with professionals and to interface with other professionals working in the same sector (LD5). Course program
The course aims to facilitate the construction of a conceptual framework of reference, which allows to understand the many variables that influence work behavior and to define professional areas of intervention for the psychologist. The course consists of 18 weekly modules. Each module includes 2/3 video lessons lasting between 8 and 15 minutes), accompanied by slides and study materials. The videolessons and materials will be made available every week for each module and will then be available for the duration of the course. Each module is divided into three sections, each of which includes a specific self-assessment questionnaire, and a brief summary lesson, in which the teacher will quickly review the different contents, and provide answers to specific questions. Furthermore, an interactive activitie is planned between. At the end of the course, the student will master the essential information on each of the variables that influence work behavior in the organizations and to understand professional areas of intervention of the psychologist. Prerequisites
The course requires an adequate knowledge of the Italian language. A useful prerequisite is the ability to read and understand texts in English.

Lesson mode
The lessons are frontal with workshops and exercises that enrich the path. Students are encouraged to participate in thematic research projects that deepen the application side of the discipline.
