Course program
The primary objective of the course, which takes place in the second year of the program, is to provide students with theoretical and methodological knowledge of the social work profession. This will enable them to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities that underpin social work in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and describe a support process, both for individuals and groups, within a framework model, having experienced the main tools for conducting interviews and groups in the classroom. They will also be able to understand and structure the main documentation produced by social work.
Prerequisites
Possess knowledge of the guiding principles of social work, its objectives, code of ethics, and the evolution of the profession, and have passed the exam on the principles and methods of social work.
Frequency
Attendance is mandatory, and attendance is recorded directly by the teacher. The percentage of tolerated absences is equal to two-thirds of the total hours.
Exam mode
The assessment includes a single final exam consisting of a written test and an oral exam. The final grade is the average of the individual assessments.
Lesson mode
Each lesson comprises a first, vertical theoretical lecture and a second, interactive part: simulations, workshops, and documentation. This approach is believed to foster a circular learning environment that begins with theory and engages with practice, and involves a renewed use of theoretical knowledge to develop effective and efficient intervention methods.
