INTERNSHIP
Course objectives
ETSC must be obtained through an internship at organizations affiliated with Sapienza or, in any case, with partner organizations that carry out activities in the field of international cooperation for development consistent with the training objectives of the course for a minimum of 75 hours. Formal recognition will occur upon the submission of the internship completion statement at the office of the Department responsible for such recognition.

Internship Completion and Finalization
a) During the internship, the host organization should document the intern’s attendance through a timesheet or attendance register (optional).
b) At the end of the internship, the host organization must issue a certificate indicating the total number of hours completed (a minimum of 150 hours is required for 6 ECTS credits), as per the attached template.
c) The intern must send a request for credit recognition to the President of the Degree Program (pierluigi.montalbano@uniroma1.it), attaching the attendance certificates obtained. At the same time, the student may register on INFOSTUD for the recording of the ECTS credits during the first available session.
Prerequisites
These credits may be earned through an internship of at least 150 hours, carried out at a public, private, or non-profit organization, provided that the following conditions are met:
- the internship must be undertaken during the master’s degree program (not before enrollment).
- the internship must be formally activated in accordance with legal procedures, as detailed on the AFE – External Training Activities website. Internships carried out without a prior formal agreement (convenzione) between the University and the host organization will not be recognized.
- the internship must be approved in advance by both the academic tutor (for all procedures related to the Master’s Program in DICS, this is the Program Director) and the host organization’s supervisor. Both must sign the training project (progetto formativo) before the start of the internship and the final report upon its completion.
- the internship must be deemed relevant to the master’s program or to specific courses within the curriculum by the academic tutor. Internships that do not meet the above criteria will not be eligible for academic credit.

There are no required or recommended readings.
Frequency
There is no attendance requirement.
Exam mode
The internship must be approved in advance by both the academic tutor (for all procedures related to the Master’s Program in DICS, this is the Program Director) and the host organization’s supervisor. Both must sign the training project (progetto formativo) before the start of the internship and the final report upon its completion.
The internship must be deemed relevant to the Master’s Program or to specific courses within the curriculum by the academic tutor. 
Internships that do not meet the above criteria will not be eligible for academic credit.
