International Study, Research and Internship Opportunities at Sapienza University of Rome
Sapienza offers a wide range of opportunities for study, research, and internships abroad—both within and outside of Europe. These include short- and long-term stays, thesis research abroad, and more.
Study Periods in European Countries: Erasmus+ for Studies
Erasmus+ promotes transnational cooperation among higher education institutions and funds mobility for study purposes (Student Mobility for Studies – SMS) across all academic disciplines and degree levels, including doctoral studies.
The program allows students to attend courses and take exams abroad, with full academic recognition within the European Higher Education Area. It also supports thesis research activities abroad for both Master’s and PhD students.

Internships in European Countries: Erasmus+ Traineeship
Erasmus+ for Traineeships supports full-time internships at companies, training centers, or research institutions located in Erasmus+ program countries.
These internships are fully recognized as part of the student’s academic curriculum and can also be undertaken after graduation, provided the application and selection process is completed before the degree is awarded.
Traineeship periods count toward the overall Erasmus mobility duration allowed per degree cycle.
