Course program
The subject of the course are public policies, and the actors, the phases, the tools that interact for their production and evaluation. The course adopts a historical-interpretative perspective to examine the developments of the theories and analytical models used for the study of policies. To this end, the course will focus on the contrast between rationalist and interpretative approaches in the analysis and evaluation of policies, reflecting on the growing epistemic and methodological gap between these conceptual families. Furthermore, the course intends to give students the opportunity to experiment with applied research on crucial issues for current policymaking. To this end, the course will address the problems and resources for the analysis of policies for sustainable development, and in particular the processes of translation into regulatory frameworks of the principles and guidelines contained in the 2030 Agenda.
