Lecturer in Microbiology and Scientific English
All students are cordially encouraged to complete the OPIS evaluation questionnaires, an essential component of our ongoing commitment to teaching quality and academic improvement.
Within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (E) programme, seven formal examination sessions are held each academic year (January, February, June/July, and September). When circumstances and the availability of teaching staff permit, additional extraordinary sessions (April and December) may also be scheduled.
Each course unit, comprising several modules, requires students to attain a passing grade (minimum mark: 18/30) in all assessments, which are typically conducted in oral form. The final mark for the course shall be determined as the arithmetic average of the individual module grades.
For the Microbiology module, and subject to prior agreement between the student and the lecturer, opportunities for continuous assessment may be provided via the instructor’s dedicated e-learning platform (https://elearning.uniroma1.it/enrol/index.php?id=1880).
A final exemption test may also be offered, the successful completion of which shall be recognised as valid in lieu of the final examination.
Students are expected to possess a foundational understanding of general biology, corresponding to the level typically achieved in secondary education.
With regard to the Scientific English course within the Nursing programme, students are kindly referred to the relevant information available on the UniTelma website or invited to contact the Academic Director directly.
A detailed presentation of the Microbiology course—covering continuous assessments, exemption procedures, examination formats, study plans, and recommended textbooks—will be provided during the introductory lecture.
