DIGITAL CLOTHING AND FASHION DIGITALIZATION

Obiettivi formativi

The course aims to introduce students to the field of digital fashion and the digitalization of fashion. Students will explore how garments can exist and function in fully digital environments, from virtual try-ons and augmented reality to fashion in the metaverse and wearable NFTs. The impact of digitalization on the fashion value chain will also be analyzed. Through critical analysis and practical engagement, students will investigate how digital clothing challenges traditional fashion paradigms, addresses sustainability issues, and transforms identity and self-expression in virtual spaces. The course also encourages reflection on the creative, technical, and ethical dimensions of fashion digitalization, both within the industry and in academic contexts. Finally, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of 3D design and engage in initial practical experimentation through the creation of three-dimensional digital garments.
