WORKSHOP I QUALITATIVE METHODS FOR RESEARCH IN FASHION

Obiettivi formativi

Il corso introduce lo studente ai principali metodi qualitativi per la ricerca sui fenomeni legati alla moda e all'abbigliamento. Al termine del corso, lo studente comprenderà la differenza tra metodo e metodologia e avrà familiarità con i metodi di ricerca qualitativa più comunemente utilizzati. Saprà come ricercare informazioni pertinenti e condurre una revisione sintetica della letteratura. Sarà consapevole delle problematiche etiche relative agli argomenti di ricerca. Saprà formulare domande di ricerca e sarà in grado di creare un progetto di ricerca/progetto giustificato e realistico. Il corso fornisce allo studente gli strumenti per creare un proprio piano di progetto relativo alla ricerca.

Prerequisiti
BA degree or equivalent. The course is only open for Master’s students in Fashion Studies. No students from other programmes will be accepted.

Enrollment instructions will be given during the first lecture.
Frequenza
1 x 4h session each week for the first half of the course, independent work and 1 x 1h small group tutorial during the second half of the course
Modalità di esame
Option 1 (attending students): A number of individual written tasks, and one group video task, during the course. Option 2 (non-attending students): Full research plan (3000 words, excluding list of references).
Modalità di erogazione
During the first half of the course, 4h weekly lectures/workshops. During the second part of the course, students work independently, and each student prepares for and participates in one small-group tutorial.
