Course program
Objective
Upon completion of the Clinical Nursing course, the student must be able to develop care plans for patients suffering from diseases that can lead to chronicity and disability.
The student must be able to identify all phases of the nursing process, know how to write a nursing diagnosis by identifying the care priority, describe the specific related interventions (both autonomous and interdependent/multidisciplinary), and apply theoretical elements to practice.

Fundamentals of the Nursing Process and Care Planning
Review of the methodology for constructing a care plan, Marjory Gordon's functional health patterns, the concept of constructing a standard care plan, the nurse's role, and the definition of a nursing diagnosis versus a collaborative problem.
Clinical Care Modules
Care for the patient with Diabetes Mellitus: diagnosis, classification, clinical aspects, therapy, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with chronic and acute renal failure (kidney failure), care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient undergoing dialysis.
Care for the patient with gastrointestinal and digestive health problems: colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with hepatic cirrhosis, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with pancreatitis, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with oncohematological diseases and candidates for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT), care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with cerebral stroke (CVA/Ictus): etiological and precipitating factors, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with multiple sclerosis, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with spinal cord injuries, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with heart failure, care plan, and nursing diagnoses.
Care for the patient with arterial hypertension (high blood pressure). Care plan and nursing diagnoses.
