Course program
● General characteristics of patients in the critical care area particularly in their cardio-respiratory and neurological dysfunctions ● Study of thoracoabdominal biomechanics and in-depth study of related anatomy and physiology. ● assessment of patients in the critical care area through: ○ reading the clinical examinations in the patient's chart and evaluating them from a rehabilitation perspective. In particular study from a rehabilitation perspective of respiratory function tests and blood gas tests and hints on capnometry for rehabilitation purposes ○ assessment of changes in thoracoabdominal wall biomechanics caused by pathology or invasive therapies ○ reading radiodiagnostic examinations from a rehabilitation perspective ○ using tools for evaluation and monitoring of physiotherapy in the critical care area (pulse oximeter, phonendoscope, reading and monitoring of ventilatory profile,...) ● Setting up the treatment plan and choosing effective physiotherapy maneuvers for improving thoracic-pulmonary compliance, bronchial unblocking, and neuro-motor recovery taking into consideration the principle of individuality ● Methods of monitoring during respiratory physiotherapy and data collection ● Use of oxygen therapy. Methods of administration, evaluation of effectiveness and its weaning through respiratory physiotherapy ● Use of mechanical ventilation. Knowledge of the various types of ventilators, understanding of setting parameters and possible changes as progress in respiratory physiotherapy occurs. Itinerary for weaning from Mechanical Ventilation. ● step-by-step verification of results and adjustment of the rehabilitation program as the patient progresses ● final evaluation of the changes achieved
