Introduction: definition, history of the drug end general principles. Cell membrane and transport mechanisms (passive, active, phagocytosis and pinocytosis) Oil/water partition coefficient. Routes of drug introdution Pharmacokinetics: absorption and its interferences, bioavailability, distribution and elimination (metabolism and excretion), half-life plasma protein binding, blood- brain barrier, decay curves (zeroand firstorder Kinetics), therapeutic index. Pharmacodynamics: receptors( definition, locationcharacteristics, up and down regolation), drug-receptor interation (affinity and intrinsic activity), dose-response curves, agonist and antagonist. Drug interactions and adverse reactions. Stages of clinical experimentation. Pathological addictions
