Course program
The 3rd year professional internship is designed to promote the consolidation and advancement of 1st and 2nd year skills in nursing students. TARGET: 3rd year students CFU/HOURS: 25 CFU/750 HOURS of internship GENERAL OBJECTIVES 3RD YEAR At the end of the second year of the course, the student must be able to relate to the assisted person and his/her family members, identify the needs underlying the physiological and pathological processes, including those in critical conditions, respond to them by arranging an individualized care plan based on scientific evidence also in specialist sectors, in hospital, outpatient and home settings. He must guarantee the correct application of diagnostic and therapeutic prescriptions, collaborate with the healthcare team and make use, if necessary, of support figures. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES 3RD YEAR During the laboratory and professional training course, the student must be able to acquire the knowledge and relational, educational and methodological skills to identify and satisfy low, medium and high complexity problems of the person, family and community. • Must be able to develop critical thinking and decision-making consistent with the responsibility of general nursing care recognized by the profile; • Must be able to develop skills in intra- and extra-hospital team work; • Apply the nursing process in every context; • Know and be able to use nursing care planning tools (evidence-based guidelines, protocols and procedures, clinical paths); • Support other students on the course of study in the different stages of learning • Identify specific competence and collaborative problems in low, medium and high complexity situations; • Provide nursing, general, preventive, curative, palliative and rehabilitative care for • health promotion, in all stages of life; • Implement technical and educational interventions; • Make appropriate use of support staff; • Act in an integrated manner with other health and social professions; PROGRAM/CONTENT The student during the internship experience, laboratory activities and individual tutoring provided for in the 3rd year, consolidates and perfects the skills acquired in the previous two years. The student must know how to plan, organize, plan, intervene and evaluate assistance in following types of users: Nursing the patient in emergency: - manage the emergency using guidelines, protocols and procedures; - assist the polytraumatized patient, - assist the patient in a state of shock and in cardiac arrest - know first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation techniques: perform a massage external heart and mouth-to-mouth and mouth-to-nose ventilation and/or ventilate the patient with the AMBU bag - know TRIAGE evaluation and color code assignment. - first aid measures for burn patients (management, evaluation and treatment - Wallace scale) - bandages and bandages and immobilization systems - gastric lavage; - anterior nasal tamponade - knowledge and use of the defibrillator; Critical care patient nursing: - recognize critical levels (state of consciousness, respiratory instability, hemodynamic instability) e prepare care plans - detect and monitor PVC; - detect and monitor systemic blood pressure with an invasive method; - assist the patient in coma by evaluating the degree, according to the various evaluation scales - know the devices such as: endotracheal tubes, cannulae, laryngoscopes, laryngeal tube, intraosseous tube. - know the orotracheal intubation techniques - manage the tracheostomy with correct aspiration of secretions - ventilate and manage the patient with an automatic ventilator - carry out oral hygiene in the unconscious and/or intubated patient - know the EGA execution methods - management of narcotic drugs - assist the patient before death - recompose the body and know the medical-legal procedures Nursing the neurological patient: - recognize the signs and symptoms of neurological patients - assist patients with head trauma, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease - know the neurological instrumental and diagnostic techniques (Spinectomy, EMG, EEG) and Collaborate with the doctor in carrying out diagnostic-therapeutic techniques - Recognize and assist the person with an epileptic attack Nursing for psychiatric patients: - Reception and multidimensional assessment in mental health, - adoption of individual and environmental measures in people with psychopathological disorders (restraint Psychological, Pharmacological, Environmental and Physical) - problems of treatment adherence and specific aspects of pharmacological therapy in psychiatry Nursing the patient in the Operating Room: - know the positions that the patient must assume on the operating table depending on the type of intervention; - assist the patient in the pre-anesthesia room; - know and understand the various types of anesthesia, devices, drugs, biomedical equipment - recognize the surgical instruments and main devices - know how to recognize and apply the rules of behavior in the operating room - know all the equipment for sterilizing material and instruments Surgical; - know and be able to apply guidelines, protocols, checklist procedures, - know the methods and monitor the person during the anesthesia phases - know the rules relating to the registration of narcotic substances and related loading registers e I unload; - know the conservation and maintenance procedures for the material and equipment anesthesia
