GENERAL AND SPECIALIST PEDIATRICS
• Recognize patients who need immediate medical attention and intervention
• Immediate emergency treatment of shock.
• Pathophysiology of dehydration and related electrolyte imbalances.
• Growth abnormalities requiring further investigation.
• Intrauterine factors that can affect fetal and neonatal growth.
• Mental retardation and cerebral palsy in children. Common pediatric diseases
• Respiratory system: Neonatal respiratory distress, inflammation of the upper and lower airways, bronchiolitis
• Digestive system: Acute diarrhea, malabsorption
• Infectious diseases characteristic of childhood
• Vaccinations and current schedule in Italy Newborn problems
• Physical examination of the newborn
• Neonatal screening (mandatory and optional screening)
• Auxological stages
• Adaptation to postnatal life
• Main neonatal malformations and pathologies
• Breastfeeding and weaning

Prerequisites
Ability to interpret the preventive, diagnostic, and rehabilitative aspects of health and disease issues in newborns, children, and adolescents, and the ability to identify appropriate care interventions
