Introduction to general pathology:
Health state. Illness concept. Etiology and Pathogenesis.
Diseases as dynamic phenomena: Scheme of disease factors: exogenous and endogenous.
Physical, chemical, biological, deficiency and genetic agents.
Etiology: The exogenous disease factors.
Environmental pathology: Physical causes of disease: radiation, high and low temperatures, temperature / humidity / ventilation, electricity, noise, inert dust.
Chemical causes of disease: acids and alkalis, solvents, poisons, polluting toxic substances.
Cigarette smoke. Alcohol.
Endogenous disease factors:
Genetic pathology: Chromosomal and genetic diseases. Karyotype mutations and anomalies.
Modes of transmission of genetic diseases.
Family tree concept. Multifactorial heritage.
Some examples of human genetic diseases and notes on their molecular basis.
Autoimmune pathology: basic concepts and examples.
