Course program
The Sociology of the Environment and Territory course aims to examine the main sociology studies of the environment and territory in the light of the debate in the social sciences. A part is dedicated to the relationship between contemporary sociological theories and research carried out in the fields of environmental sociology. Finally, the relationship between environment and territory will be deepened, in particular on urbanized territories. Conscious attendance of the Sociology of the Environment and Territory course coincides with the goal of: 1. Notes on the knowledge of the sociological approach to the concepts of environment and territory. 2. Notes on the acquisition of awareness of the notion of "environment" to limit the ambiguity of the uses made of it. 3. Notes on the acquisition of a historical and conceptual framework of the sociological perspective on the environmental issue, paying particular attention to the topic of social knowledge necessary to manage the environment in a sustainable way 4. Notes on the knowledge of a framework on the relevance of the territory, of territorial relations and their transformation as a relevant lens for the analysis of the most diverse social phenomena. In particular, we will focus on the relationship between social change and territory in global processes and spatial inequalities.
