Audioprothesic Techniques

The Hygiene module provides students with the essential knowledge of general and applied hygiene, with particular focus on healthcare and audiological settings. The course highlights the role of hygiene in infection prevention and health promotion, addressing key Italian and European regulations and best practices in personal, environmental, and professional hygiene. Topics include hygiene and disinfection procedures in audiological environments, proper cleaning and sanitization of instruments and devices (audiometers, headphones, otoscopes), and the safe management of patient comfort and privacy. Attention is given to ear hygiene, prevention of infections and noise-induced damage, and patient education on hearing protection. The course also covers maintenance and hygiene of audiometric equipment, management of healthcare waste, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment, in accordance with current regulations. Finally, students learn the fundamentals of self-assessment and monitoring of hygiene practices, fostering a professional approach focused on safety, prevention, and quality of care.
