Health Assistance

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to understand the historical and regulatory evolution of the healthcare assistant, recognizing their role, skills, and main areas of intervention within it. They will be able to consciously use fundamental professional communication tools, such as active listening, observation, and the helping relationship, applying them effectively in practical contexts. They will explore the theoretical and practical principles of healthcare counseling, acquiring basic skills to support individuals in the process of awareness and change, with a particular focus on health promotion and prevention. Students will understand the importance of vaccinations in preventing infectious diseases, gaining knowledge of the vaccination schedule, immunization strategies, and the role of the healthcare assistant in promoting, managing, and communicating vaccination campaigns. Students will understand the organization and functioning of family counseling centers, the activities carried out in a multidisciplinary setting, and the specific contribution of the healthcare assistant within this structure. Finally, the main screening programs will be analyzed, with particular attention to their purposes, organizational methods, and the benefits and limitations of secondary prevention interventions aimed at the population.

The teaching materials consist of official documentation and selected regulatory references indicated during the lessons. Specifically, the material includes: excerpts from national laws and regulations relating to healthcare workers, screening, and vaccinations, guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, institutional documentation, and additional in-depth material to support the teaching activities provided by the instructor.

The final evaluation will be carried out through an individual oral interview.
