Course program
At the end of the course the student must be able to: • Know the meaning and importance of nurse work in rehabilitation context; • Know the rehabilitation contexts, the professional figures involved, the assessment tools, the main pathologies of rehabilitation interest and the appropriate terminology; • Apply knowledge in the healthcare context, knowing which are the best ways to manage and mobilize the patient in rehabilitation, recognizing any red flags and incorrect postures or movements; • Communicate effectively in the rehabilitation team, with a Patient – Centered approach. Program • Rehabilitation: meaning, importance, main fields of application; • The professionals of rehabilitation; • Patient mobilization: methods, precautions, facilitations and red flags; • The neurological patient and the orthopedic patient: main pathologies of rehabilitation interest and related characteristics to be known for correct management; • Aids and their use; • The rehabilitation records and the terminology; • The main assessment tools in rehabilitation and nursing; • Teamwork: the importance of collaboration between the nurse and the rehabilitation professionals; • Notes on dysphagia and its management
