Course program
General objectives of the course of pathological anatomy are: raise awareness of the essential concepts of both mechanisms of etiopathogenesis and morphological substrate, intended as alterations of organs, tissues, cells and sub-cellular structures, of pathological anatomy, leading pathologist frameworks to understand the related clinical picture (anatomical-clinical correlations). Raising awareness of the fundamental role of pathological anatomy in the clinical decision-making process from which arises the need for close collaboration between clinical and pathologist. Assess the stage of development of the pathological process defining prognostic parameters — the evolutionary probability of injury. Direct therapeutic choices based on the stage of the disease, on predictive parameters of response to specific treatments. Precondition for the achievement of this objective is training the ability to interpret the pathologist reports (histology, cytology). To know the indications and limitations of some anatomical pathology examination methodology (intraoperative examination, exfoliative cytology, for affixing and fine needle aspiration; needle biopsies), and diagnostic implications relating to endoscopic biopsies, surgical biopsies, surgical samples for staging, diagnostic necropsy protocols. Introduction to Pathological Anatomy.
